Kawana Lashell Lott was born on May 11 in Palestine, TX. Lady Kawana is the oldest of her siblings. She received her education in the Palestine-Westwood School system and Grapeland School system where she graduated. Lady Kawana has always been passionate about nursing and caring for the elderly. She went on to further her education in the field of nursing where she became a Certified Nurse Aide, Certified Medication Aide, and now a Nurse. She is currently employed as a Nurse by Greenbrier Nursing Center, Tyler Tx.
Lady Kawana serves the ministry passionately with her husband Pastor Derrick D. Lott, Sr. of Mt. Olive Baptist Church; Tyler Tx. She eagerly works with the Women’s Ministry, Sunday School, and Usher Ministry. Lady Kawana has served as the Junior Mission President of the Palestine Bowen Baptist District Association and the former 2nd Vice President of the Junior Women of the Missionary Baptist General Convention of Texas.
Her passion for women of all ages has helped her to help them to break down barriers as God orders her steps. She believes that everything in life should be address through prayer.
On June 7,2009, Pastor Derrick D. Lott, Sr. married Lady Kawana and in this union they have seven beautiful children and two wonderful grandchildren.
As a First Lady, mother, grandmother and friend, she enjoys bringing smiles to others with her bright and radiant smile, encouraging everyone that everyday is a good day because God created it with us in mind.
Reverend Monica Robinson is an accomplished musician and founder of “Lightbearers”, an outreach ministry called to bear light in the earth through evangelism and discipleship. She is an active member of the Friendship West Baptist Church (FWBC) in Dallas, Texas, where her pastor is the Rev. Dr. Frederick D. Haynes, III. Her higher learning includes attending Dallas Theological Seminary, Center for Biblical Studies.
Reverend Robinson accepted her call to preach the Gospel in November 1998. She was licensed in December 1999 and has been evangelizing men and women that they may come to the light and become bearers of the light by walking in obedience to Christ. She presently serves as Mentor for Ministers in Training (MIT Women) at FWBC, and is a Christian Education Teacher in the most recent Howard Thurman Bible Institute in Dallas. Since becoming a member at Friendship-West Baptist Church, she has served in numerous ministries, to include Christian Education, Criminal Justice Prison Ministry, W.O.W. (Women of the West Ministry), Soul Stirrers (Evangelism Ministry) and On A Mission Ministry (Urban Missions). December 2004 she accepted the role of Ministry/ Servant Leader for the Criminal Justice Prison Community. Other Ministry Involvements Include: Assisting in Church planning and leadership development. (Church references upon requests)
She is an anointed preacher, teacher, facilitator, seminar/workshop coordinator, choral director, clinician and worship leader. She has been playing piano since the age of 8. She spent 2yrs at Mountain View College aspiring to major in Music. Her Music talents along with her Teaching gifts have afforded her the ability to develop choirs as well as construct great Praise/Worship Ministries. Her recent music ministry assignments include: FMC Carswell, Federal Prison in Ft. Worth, Texas. She continues to be an opened vessel who avails herself to be used in any capacity that God chooses to use. She truly believes that we are created to “bear light” in a dark world, do “good works” in order for men to see, that we may glorify our Creator (Elohim) in a way that truly honors Him. God has also, presented her immense opportunities to touch many lives throughout the country, including both Hawaii and the Bahamas. Moreover, as a woman of prayer, faith and fellowship, she is known for her encouragement and support to others in the Lord.
Rev. Monica Robinson is married to Rev. Timothy Robinson and together they share parenting responsibilities to three beautiful and anointed children: Rev. Rashad Davis, Cherish Robinson (Music Minister) and Darius Robinson (Worship Leader).
