Located just off the downtown square, in what is lovingly known as Athens Alley, is the East Texas Book Exchange. Owners Bruce and Mary Jo Gallager have created a warm and inviting store in which you can sit back and peruse the pages of an American Classic or perhaps browse the titles in the Romance and Fiction sections. The store slogan is "Come Buy & Trade" and by all means, this is encouraged.
East Texas Book Exchange offers new (by local authors) & used books and readers’ accessories (as long as supplies last), as well as book signings by local authors.Currently, the artwork of local artist Candace Hicks is on display.
For those wanting to trade books — contact Bruce or drop in for details on trading policies!
