This little joint in Athens is known for "Hog Wings", and they are incredible. Petite pork shanks cut to resemble chicken legs are rubbed and smoked to a perfect tenderness and served with a sweet and spicy dipping sauce. Other meats are offered including the standard brisket, ribs, and hot links. These links have no resemblance to the hot dog like versions found so often elsewhere. The coarsely ground meat has a deep red line below the casing, and a good black pepper kick. Sides offered include: baked potatoes, coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans, Texas beans, corn on the cob, green beans, and more!
Don’t forget to check out the desserts, too. Cripple Creek offers homemade pies, cobbler, bread pudding, and apple dumplings. Yummm!
Cripple Creek BBQ has a banquet room that can accommodate groups of 45-50 people.
