Athens Little Theater

Henderson County Performing Arts Center (a/k/a Athens Little Theater)

Athens Little Theatre, located on Gibson Road, operates as a non-profit organization, for the benefit of our community, and strives to share the magic of dreams for theatre excellence through the study and production of the performing arts. Our mission is to provide quality entertainment to area residents and guests who come from time to time to partake of activities in the area.

The Athens Little Theater will comfortably seat 110 guests. Reservations are preferred as performances sell out frequently! 903.675.3908

Pool Ranch ATV Park
Enjoy this 4-wheeler paradise.  The park is open five times a year.  There are 3,000 acres of trails, mud, creeks, and hills.  Food and drinks are available.  Camping is available (no water or electricity). 903-675-6663

March - Annual Athens Triathlon

What:  Enjoy one of Lance Armstrong’s early triathlons.  Yes Lance did triathlons along with his biking.  At the age of 16 Lance came to Athens and conquered the field setting the course record.

What:  Ropin’, ridin’, and plenty of horsing’ around at the longest running PRCA annual rodeo in the area!

Old Fiddler's Reunion - Last Friday in May

May (Last Friday each May) - Old Fiddlers Contest & Reunion

What:  Bring your lawn chairs and spend the day enjoying the sights and sounds of this 76 year old event.  Stay til midnight and dance to the tunes of country western swing and more at the street dance that follows.

What:  By the pint or by the bushel, there's nothing better in summer than fresh, sweet berries.  Typically, berries are best from late May through July; however, there are a number of factors that affect this, so it's always best to call ahead.

June - Uncle Fletch Hamburger & BBQ Cook-off - Has been moved to September

What:  Did you know the hamburger was created in Athens, Texas?  Yup, even McDonald’s says so.  Come for family fun and fabulous food at our annual cook-off
Where:  Lake Athens Marina, 3 miles east of Athens on FM 2495
Admission:  $7.00; children under 12-free.  Entry fee includes a hamburger.

September – Heritage Festival and Uncle Fletch Hamburger Cook-off

What:  Celebrate Henderson County Heritage with many planned activities and re-enactments.  The Uncle Fletch Hamburger Cook-Off will be celebrated in conjunction with the Festival as the hamburger is part of Athen’s heritage.
